M-2001-107 - NCCI Pit #1, 112 (c) Amendment Application Adequacy Review 01 Response, 1113012007
-3-
6.4.3 Exhibit C- Pre Mining and Mining Plan Man(s) ofAffected Lands
1) On Exhibit C- Mining Plan Map, there appears to be no mining activity or support facilities planned for
the parcel of land owned by the Zadel Family south of Mining Phase 8. Is this correct or is it an error of
omission? If no disturbance is planned, why is it included in the permit area?
No mining activity or disturbance is planned for this area. As with other areas on the property
that are not planned to be mined or disturbed, this area was included in the permit area. The
property as a whole has been included in the permit area.
2) In accordance with Rule 6.43(b), please portray on Exhibit C- Map, the features listed in Rule 6.4.3(b)
not only on the area of affected land, but also within two hundred (200) feet of all boundaries of the area.
Please see the attached revised Exhibit C map which shows the additional information.
3) In accordance with Rule 6.4.30, show the owner's name, type of structures, and location of all significant
valuable, and permanent man-made structures contained on the area of affected land and within two
hundred (200) feet of the affected land
Please see the attached revised Exhibit C map which shows the additional information.
4) In accordance with Rule 6.4.3(e), please portray on Exhibit C- Map, the type of present vegetation
covering the affected lands.
Please see the attached revised Exhibit C map which shows the additional information.
Rule 6.4.4 Exhibit D - Mining Plan
1) In accordance with Rule 6.4.4(c), please provide information on anticipated water diversions and
impoundments in the expanded area. If no water diversions or impoundments are in the plan, please
provide a statement to that effect
The dewatering procedures (perimeter dewatering ditches, dewatering pond) and
sedimentation pond used in the current permitted area will be relocated to the expanded area
when mining there occurs. Other than groundwater that is exposed and dewatered during the
mining of the expanded area, no other water diversions are planned for the expanded area. A
sedimentation pond of approximately one half acre in size will be utilized in the expanded area
once the current pond is abandoned. No other water impoundment is planned for the
expanded area.
2) Regarding the production of gold as an incidental product (pg. 6), will there be gold processing facilities
on site?
There will be no gold processing facilities located on site. The material that contains
extractable gold is collected from the screening facility and removed from the site for
processing.
3) Rule 6.4.4(e) requires an approximate time table for mining. Applicant has provided an approximate
length of mining of each phase at 9 to 15 months, but has not provided an estimate of the starting date of
mining in the expanded area.
Depending on market conditions, NCCI anticipates that Phases 1 through 5 will be complete
by mid to late 2008. At that time they would proceed to Phase 6 of the mining, and onto the
expanded area, to begin mining activities there.
V 1400 W 122nd Avenue - Suite 120 • Westminster CO 80234 • Ph: 303-457-0735 • Fax: 303-920-0343
