Section 17.0
Bulk Storage Containers [112.8 (c)]
17.1 Compatibility [112.8 (c) (1)]
The bulk storage tanks are compatible with their contents and the conditions
of storage. The storage tanks are not pressurized and operate at atmospheric
pressure.
17.2 Secondary Containment [112.8 (c) (2)]
For the freeboard calculation, 110% of the capacity of the largest tank in
each secondary containment area was utilized. The tanks do have sufficient
secondary containment.
The tanks secondary containment areas are constructed of materials that are
sufficiently impermeable to hold the spill until discovered by facility
personnel including the following:
¦ Concrete
¦ Steel
¦ Earth
¦ Poly-liner
17.3 Diked Area Drainage [112.8(c) (3)]
After visual observation for contamination, precipitation is removed under
supervision. Appendix E contains The Standard Operating procedure for
inspecting, draining, and documenting rainwater accumulation in secondary
containment areas. Completed report forms will be kept in the Pit Files at
Connell Resources, Inc. main office in Fort Collins.
