Mr. Carl Mount Division of Minerals and Geology June 15, 2005 Page 2 of 4 As listed below, reclamation' 'of the site has complied with additional subsections . of the Reclamation Performance Standards. 11.5 Materials Handling To meet requirements, the following activities were performed.. • Grading created a final topography appropriate for the permitted final, land use, pastureland, • Backfilling was performed with adequate compaction for stability. No structures are planned for the site, so compaction testing was not necessary. • No mining highwalls were left on the site and all slopes were graded to control potential erosion and siltation. Grading of all slopes was done as mining progressed. - • No refuse, acid-forming, or toxic producing materials were mined or produced on the site. • No drill or auger holes were part of the mining operations and no adits or shafts. were created. •_ No significant. slopes were left on the site. Slopes are consistent with the pre-existing topography and appropriate for use as pastureland. • The reclamation choice for pastureland may require that the area be plowed, planted and mowed. The area is graded so farm machinery can traverse the area when needed. • Structural fill was not used to backfill the excavated pit. • Material that could potentially cause unauthorized releases of pollutants to the surface drainage system was not mined or disposed of within the affected area. . • No unauthorized release of pollutants. to groundwater occurred from materials mined or handled within the permit area. All backfilling and.grading was done as mining progressed. Final grading was completed in 2003 after the completion of mining activities. Revegetation at the site was performed in- Fall 2003 and Spring 2004. 3.1.6, Water - General Requirements Disturbances to the prevailing hydrologic balance of the affected land and surrounding area were minimized. • The operator has complied with applicable Colorado water laws and regulations governing injury to existing water rights. The operator has complied with applicable federal and Colorado water quality laws and regulations,, including statewide water quality standards and site-specific classifications and standards adopted by the Water Quality Control Commission. • The operator has complied with all applicable federal and Colorado dredge and fill requirements.- • No temporary or permanent siltation structures were constructed. • No dams were constructed in, conjunction with this permit. , • All surface areas of the affected land were stabilized to control erosion.'
