Location. Approximately 4.1 miles of haulage road currently exist within the Yoast Mine permit boundary.
The northernmost section (three miles in length) is designated as Yoast Road "A". The southernmost
section (1.1 miles) is designated as Yoast Road "B". A third section (1.0 miles) designated as Haul Road D
was constructed for use as an "out" road from the south mining area. Due to stability problems from Sta.
42±00 to 52+00 this road is no longer used and has been shut off to all traffic. As-Built construction
summaries for Haul Roads A, B and D are contained in Attachment 13-11. As-Built drawings for Haul
Roads A, B and D are depicted on Exhibits 13-10.1 to 13-10.6 to 13-11.1 to 13-11.2, and 13-16,
respectively. The topography and vegetation conditions of the site vary considerably, but can be divided into
two general areas. The northernmost.three miles of the haul road alignment (Road A) from the proposed
intersection with County Road 27 crosses gently sloping to moderately steep natural slopes which are
intersected by several intermittent drainages. The land has generally been in use for agricultural purposes
of livestock grazing and non-irrigated farming and was generally vegetated either with planted grain or
natural grasses, weeds, and sagebrush. The area is intersected by a number of two track, unimproved dirt
roads. Access will be maintained for those people who utilize these dirt roads: *One particular intersection
occurs at Station 74+25 of Road A and Routt County Road 51 D. A 24" culvert YA-5A will be installed on
the west side of Road A to allow for drainage on the north side of RCR51 D to flow underneath the county
road and continue on to culvert YA-5. All approaches will be constructed on the fill slopes of Road A with
3:1 side slopes
•
•
P R-02
11a
Revised 03/05
