2 <br /> RECOMMENDATIONS <br /> The final pit wall of this quarry should be excavated in the Pikes Peak <br /> granite. as this massive. coarsely crystalline rock without adversely <br /> dipping bedding planes will form a very stable and permanent final pit <br /> wall. <br /> The current practice of undercutting the steeply dipping limestone beds <br /> should be terminated.
