6.4.19 - Exhibit S Permanent Man-made structures.
It is noted that there are several fence lines along or through the proposed permit
area. Please list and provide a damage agreement for these structures.
It is noted that there are power lines within 200 feet of the permit
boundaries. The power lines should be listed and a damage agreement
provided.
Rule 6.5: Geotechnical Stability Exhibit:
Based on the plans submitted no geotechnical stability report appears to be warranted at
this time.
This PAR is as indicated the first full review of the application. It is noted that the Public
Notice gave 30 days from the last day of publication to comment on the application
which is in error. By rule it is only 20 days. Due to the error staff must allow the
additional time as published. Should any comment be received by 5:00 pm on December
22, 2008 they will be considered timely. The Preliminary Review does not address any
issues that may come forth through the public notice process or from the scheduled pre-
operational inspection. Responses to staff review by the applicant may result in
additional issues as well. Please note that as a matter of expediency all response should
be sent directly to staff at the Grand Junction Field Office address noted below rather
than the Main Office in Denver.
If you need additional information, please contact me at the Division of Reclamation,
Mining and Safety, Grand Junction Field Office, 101 S. 3rd St., Suite 301, Grand
Junction, Colorado 81501, telephone no. 970.241.1117.
Sincerely,
G. Russell Means
Environmental Protection Specialist 11
