• • The Brighton Ditch is located south of mining Stages 1 and 2. <br />• Finally, there are various structures on the subject property that are owned by the <br />Applicant such as irrigation laterals, fences, corrals and the like, that will removed <br />as part of the mining process. <br />43 Topography <br />The topography of the site is characterized as flat to gently sloping over the areas <br />proposed for mining. Current site topography is shown on the Mine Plan Map. Surface <br />slopes are generally to the northeast. <br />4.4 Area of Affected Lands <br />The proposed permit area covers approximately 180 acres. The total area expected <br />to be disturbed; including the mine areas,-permanent and temporary overburden and <br />topsoil stockpiles, and access roads will be approximately 150 acres. <br />• 4.5 Vegetation <br />Vegetation consist primary of introduced pasture grasses. A few Cottonwood trees, <br />riparian shrubs and scattered wetland vegetation are found along Big Dry Creek. (See <br />Exhibit J for vegetation report prepared by Keammerer Ecological Consultants) <br />4.6 Permanent or Manmade Structures <br />All permanent or manmade structures are described above in Section 4.2. <br />The civil engineering fur of Scott, Cox and Associates evaluated the Morton Lakes <br />mining plan, in the context of MLRB Rule 6.4.19, and have provided the appropriate <br />engineering evaluation and recommended mining setbacks to insure that mining will not <br />adversely affect the stability of any significant, valuable or permanent man-made <br />structures within 200 feet of the affected land. (See Appendices-5 for Scott Cox report) <br /> <br />2
