Also, please delineate an outline ofthe total life ofminc affected area on the neap (395 <br />acres). This map must be developed and signed by a professional surveyor, engineer or qualified person. This <br />information will need to be included in the Technical Revision. <br />In regards to the Ridge 4 excavation, when Amendment 01 was approved in 1994. the operator agreed to <br />conduct an acid-base neutralization tests on a representative group of samples from the pyritic rock material to <br />be mined and exposed in that area. The\ were also supposed to submit a remediation plan to prevent acid mine <br />drainage Gum occurrin?o. The Division has no record that the tests and the r'emedlation plan were ever <br />submitted. The operator \will need to submit these documents to the Division iii the Technical Revision. <br />III SUIllillar'y. in order to Update and clarify the current approved mine plan, the operator X\ III need to submit a <br />Technical Revision that is discussed above and summarized here. Please submit/report: <br />I.) The number of' acres that are disturbed at this time. It'thIs number is greater than 9; acres, please <br />request to change the maximum allowed disturbed acres. <br />2.) Please indicate the nlaxinlunl depth the operator \?ill aline. <br />;.) Request fill' the shop. trailers and crasher housing!wall to he included in the mining plan. Please <br />submit the dimensions for these structures and the type and thickness of the material they al-C built <br />all. <br />4.) Please indicate the amount of cubic yards ofoverburden and topsoil that are stored on site. Also. the <br />Office swill need to know the average distance the material \\ill need to he hauled front it's present <br />location to the area where it "III he spread and utilized fir reclamation. <br />j.) The office will need an updated mine plan map as it is discussed above. <br />6.) Please submit the findings of the acid-base neutralization tests and the renlediation plan for the <br />Ridoc lour excavation. <br />7.) The Icc for a Technical Revision is $216.00. <br />Finally. \yhile inspecting the pit excavation on Itid??e Dour, a large pool of water had gathered at the base of t}lc <br />pit (see Figure 5). It is unclear what the source of this water is. Mr. Fischer stated that the water was tram <br />precipitation. This water appears to have been retained in the pit for longer than the allowed 72 hours. The <br />operator \will need to obtain the proper pernlit for storm water retention and discharoe from Colorado <br />Department of Public i lcalth and the IAivironment, the Water Quality Control Division it the operator intends to <br />pump the water Out Of the Pit. Ill ally case, the operator Will need to obtain ail approved Substitute watcr supply <br />plan From the Office of the State Engineer to account for evaporative loss of the water.
