According to the Reclamation Plan Map, it indicates that the side slope will be graded to a 4:1
horizontal to vertical slope. The reclamation plan states that the final grade will be 3:1 or flatter.
Please specify what the final pit slopes will be graded to, either a 3;1 or 4:1 ratio.
Other Concerns
Based on the original conversion application, the site inspection, and past records on this permit, there
appears to have been a pile of concrete rip-rap located on the site. Has this pile been removed or is it
still in place? If it is still there, it will need to be included in the pre-mining map and the mining plan
map. If it is to remain on the site, please indicate its purpose? The pile should not remain after the site
has been reclaimed.
This concludes the Division's second adequacy review of this application. Please remember that the
Formal Board Hearing for this application is set for December 10th or 11th, 2008. If there are still
unresolved issues when the Board Hearing arrives and no extension has been requested, the office
will recommend to the Board that application should be denied.
