BRENT PIT CONVERSION
M-1978-072
Continued
2. I cannot address what was told to Mr. Brent in 1978 about future
expansions of this pit. However; the land the pit is located on has been the
property of Lincoln County since 1942 and no further expansion is possible.
In order to cut the dramatically increasing costs of transporting material the
County Road and Bridge forces decided to enlarge this pit for the last time.
3. Nor can I speak to Mr. Brent's assertion that the county pushed material into
Hell Creek/ There is no current evidence of this occurring in the recent past.
Nor is there evidence of a spring. Lincoln County Road and Bridge personnel
are constantly reminded that no activities of any kind can occur in or near the
channel of Hell Creek.
4. No debris of any kind will ever be hauled to this pit again. All the debris in
the pit will be removed immediately.
