BRENT PIT CONVERSION
M-1978-072
The following additional information is provided as per your letter of September 29,
2008:
6.4.3 EXHIBIT C - Pre-mining and Mining Plan Map(s) of Affected Lands
1. The barbed wire fence is owned by Lincoln County. See revised Pre-mining and
Mining Plan Maps and revised Exhibit S.
6.4.4 EXHIBIT D - Mining Plan
1. The topsoil or overburden stockpiles will be stabilized by seeding the piles with
annual or perennial grasses. See the attached memo from Brian Johnson of the
N. R. C. S. The memo spells out the variety of grass and a recommended seeding
rate per acre. Stabilization will take place as soon after the stockpiles are
completed as possible.
i. The attached revised Mining Plan map replaces the map originally
Submitted 9included is one copy.) A revised Pre-mining Map and one
copy are also included.
Road and Bridge personnel have been cautioned to re-handle the topsoil
as little as possible.
2. A "Stormwater Containment Dike" or berm will be constructed by motor
Grader. This berm will prevent storm water run-off from entering Hell Creek.
This berm has been added to the Mining Plan Map.
3. Any overburden encountered will be stockpiled in the approximate location
Shown.
4. Lincoln County has discontinued any mixing of material on this site; nor will
any mixing ever be done in the future in any Lincoln County permitted site.
All traces of the roto-milled material will be removed from the pit site. Any of
the remaining "mixed" material will also be removed.
5. Since the mixing operation has ceased and clean up will be done there should be
no affects to water quality or quantity.
