E. -Project Manager <br />CDM Inc. <br />Date: September 17, 2008 <br />Subject: Draft - Groundwater Characterization Data Collection Work Plan, to <br />Address Designated Mining Operations (DMO) Status <br />Sunday Mines Group, San Miguel County, Colorado <br />CDM Project No. 64986.03 <br />CDM has prepared this draft data collection work plan for Denison Mines (USA) Corp. <br />(Denison) in accordance with our master services agreement (MSA), Task Order No. 3. This <br />work plan describes data collection procedures to be used by Denison to evaluate <br />groundwater at the Sunday Mines Group located in San Miguel County, Colorado (site). The <br />Sunday Mines Group includes the following mines: <br />¦ Carnation Mine, <br />¦ St. Jude Mine, <br />¦ Sunday Mine, <br />¦ Topaz Mine, and <br />¦ West Sunday Mine. <br />The location of the Sunday Mines Group is presented in Figure 1. CDM developed this data <br />collection work plan to support the proposed program for environmental analysis at the <br />Sunday Mines Group as described in Denison 's March 31, 2008 letter (Denison 2008) to the <br />Colorado Division of Reclamation Mining and Safety (DRMS) in response to the DRMS' <br />Notice of Determination of Designated Mining Operations (DRMS 2008a). Procedures and <br />analyses presented in this data collection work plan are also consistent with DRMS' May 9, <br />2008 response letter (DRMS 2008b) to Denison approving (with comment) the proposed <br />program for environmental analysis at the Sunday Mines Group. This evaluation is a <br />component of the first phase of activities planned by Denison to address Designated Mining
