C-1981-008 TR-58
Summary and Redirection
22-Oct-2008
revegetation success standard for Irrigated Pasture from a numerical standard to a
reference area. When questioned about these additional changes, WFC explained that
they reflect changes previously incorporated in TR-55, which was withdrawn in February
2008.
Further discussion between the Division (Sandy Brown, Dan Mathews and Marcia
Talvitie) and WFC (Greg Lewicki) resulted in the decision to limit TR-58 to only those
alterations necessary to effect the Irrigated Pasture revegetation success standard change
from a numerical standard to a reference area. Additionally, incorporating any
extraneous changes would complicate the review and possibly require a new public
notice period.
• WFC will submit an amended version of the application limited in scope to the
change from a technical standard, and the sampling methodologies and statistics
proposed to make the comparison between the reclaimed irrigated pasture and the
proposed irrigated pasture reference area. The cover letter will include an
itemized list addressing each proposed change in the submittal, as compared to
the current approved version of the Revegetation Section of the permit application
(as approved 16-Sep-2005 with TR-53).
• The cover letter will also summarize the changes that are in response to previous
DRMS adequacy comments; the corresponding DRMS adequacy letter and item
number will be identified.
Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or comments you may have
regarding this issue.
Best regards,
Marcia L. Talvitie, P.E.
Environmental Protection Specialist
xc: Greg Lewicki, P.E., Greg Lewicki & Associates
- - Sandy Brown, DRMS
Dan Mathews, DRMS
Marcia Talvitie, DRMS
