MLRB Summary of Minutes - October 15. 2008 page 2 <br />e) Prospecting Notices: Mr. Cattany said information regarding prospecting notices for EGL <br />and Chevron will now be on-line because of Senate Bill 228. Mr. Cattany said at this time <br />there is no new information from Shell. <br />f) November Board Meeting: Mr. Cattany said thje Mined Land Reclamation Board will meet <br />in Cripple Creek on November 13th and 14th for the hearing. <br />g) Uranium/Hard Rock Prospecting Notices: Mr. Cattany said the Division continues to <br />receive one to two uranium prospecting notices per week with the majority of them waiving <br />the confidentiality provisions. He said the Division receives approximately one gold or <br />hard rock prospecting notice each month. <br />h) Rule-Making: Mr. Cattany said the Department is preparing for rule-making on Bill 228, <br />1161, and 169, which will be a combined rule-making. He said the AG's office is <br />beginning to work on a draft for that rule-making. <br />i) Colorado Stone, Sand and Gravel Association: Mr. Cattany said there has been a <br />restructuring of the aggregate trade industry association. He said the previous two <br />associations have merged to become the Colorado Stone, Sand and Gravel Association, <br />which is currently headed by Pete Jacobson. <br />j) Mine Safety and Training: Mr. Cattany said the Division's Mine Safety and Training <br />Program is part of the Western Regional Mine Safety and Health Network, which will be <br />holding its regional meeting in Northglenn on October 28th. He said the Division's program <br />has been nominated for a national award. <br />k) Abandoned Mine Program: Mr. Cattany said the National Association of Abandoned <br />Mined Land Programs conference will be held November 26-28 in Durango. <br />1) Creed: Mr. Cattany said he and Ms. Pineda participated with the Willow Creek Watershed <br />group in Creed in a series of meetings last month looking at the abandoned mine land work <br />happening in Creed and also some of the potential Superfund activity that may be occurring <br />in the Creed area. <br />m) Jack Long: Mr. Cattany announced the passing of Jack Long, father of Mike Long. <br />n) Ken Mangerswell: Mr. Cattany said Ken Mangerswell, husband of Sharon Schuller, the <br />previous assistant to Greg Walcher, received treatment first at Swedish and currently <br />Craig's Hospital for a fall from a ladder. <br />o) Legislative: Mr. Cattany said the only Division matter before the legislature will be the <br />reappointments. <br />AGO Report: <br />a) Resignation: Ms. Baca announced her resignation as the Board's attorney. <br />Staff Presentation by Cheryl Linden: <br />5.
