Excess Spoil: Excess spoil tills have experiences some downcutting ofthe 100-year drainages. Areas <br />identified for maintenance include; <br />West downdrain on the bench of Fill 9. The operator indicated that NEC'C plans to bring in <br />additional rock to armor this spot. <br />The east downdrain at fill 8 needs repair at the 2"`I bench. Runoff has channeled alongside the cast side <br />ofthe till R cast downdrain. Maintenance ofthis location is warrantcd. <br />NF.CC has identified ? locations on the till 7 <br />west downdrain that need repair from <br />downcutting. A small (8 ' 14 r <br />foot diameter) patch of Canada thistle was <br />N i <br />identified in parcel N-3. The operator indicated F•'` °L i ???i,'";' <br />that NECC' would spray this patch this fall. <br />Another small patch of Canada thistle was identified on parcel W-?. This patch needs management as <br />well. <br />Parcels seeded in 2006 and 2007 still exhibit mostly annuals and little perennial species. Perennial <br />species are present but not well established vet. Steeper slopes. N-?. E-2. W-2 and W-?, are still fairly <br />thin on vegetative establishment. These areas should continue to he monitored. <br />Reclamation Success: Reclaimed excess spoil tills are exhibiting good vegetative cover establishment. <br />Vegetation throughout the mine site is beginning to become well established.
