§2.05 APPLICATION FOR PERMIT FOR SURFACE OR UNDERGROUND MINING ACTIVITIES - <br />MINIMUM REQVIREMENTS FOR OPERATION AND RECLAMATION PLANS. <br />2.05.4 Reclamation Plan. <br />(6) (g) (Cont'd) <br />holes will be sealed after they are no longer used as <br />ground water monitoring wells. <br />As illustrated in Figure 2.05-6 in the Final Abandonment <br />Appendix, Volume 6A, the existing portals have been sealed <br />by filling the portals with incombustible material for a <br />distance of 25 feet or more into the portal openings, per <br />30 CFA, Part 75.1711-2 of the Mine Safety & Health <br />Administration regulations. <br />(h) The operator's mining operations are predicated on the <br />philosophy that coal may be mined without degrading the <br />environment. For this reason, Section 2.05.6(3) <br />Reclamation Plan - Protection of Hydrologic Balance, and <br />Section 2.05.6(1) - Air Pollution Control Plan, within <br />this application, are strictly followed to ensure that the <br />requirements of the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act, <br />and Colorado State requirements are met. The operator has <br />all necessary air and water quality permits and continues <br />a comprehensive monitoring and evaluation program <br />described within the above sections.
