• 2.05.4 Reclamation Plan
(2) (e) (ii) (Cont'd)
Reference Area Report in the Vegetation Appendix, Volume 9A.
The following seeding mix will be utilized on areas where a quick
stabilizing but temporary cover is desired to protect the soil
resource and prevent erosion.
Temporary Seed Mixture
(PLS/Acre Broadcast)
Western Wheatgrass (Arriba)
15
Indian Ricegrass 10
Pubescent Wheatgrass (Luna) 5
Intermediate (Tegmar) 5
Yellow Sweetclover 5
Total 40
. (iii) Seeding and Planting Methods
Prior to topsoil redistribution, if any, the top four (4) to six (6)
inches of the regraded surface will be scarified to eliminate
slippage surfaces, relieve compaction, and provide for root
penetration. Topsoil will be redistributed using earth moving
equipment to place the soil directly on the regraded surfaces
with a minimum amount of compaction
The seed mixture(s) will be drilled on level areas and on slopes
which will permit machine work along the contour. On slopes
which prevent safe or adequate machine work, the surface will
be hydro-seeded or broadcast seeded. Broadcast seeding will
also be used for small isolated areas. Extensive roughening, by
track hoe gouging, will be performed on all areas that are
broadcast or hydro-seeded to provide for increased moisture
retention and favorable micro sites for plant establishment.

TR-48 72 04/08
