2.05.4 Reclamation Plan (Cont'd)
(2)(d) The operator plans to backfill the benches and leave the access road in
place for access to rangeland, in accordance with the procedures outlined
in 2.06.5. Final reclamation will consist of revegetation of the recontoured
areas. To the extent that topsoil or other suitable subsoil material is
available to cover the benches, it will be used in seed bed preparations.
Final contours of the disturbed areas will be as set forth in Maps 6A-5A
through 6A-50. See section 2.05.5 for a discussion of postmining land uses.
The operator will use its best efforts to reclaim the mine site so it will conform
to the final reclamation contours presented on the Postmining Contour Map,
6A-5N. However, considering the steepness of the site, especially at the fan
level, some variance from the proposed Postmining Contours is expected.
The timber storage area will be reclaimed. The area will be cleared of RO-
M coal and restored to approximate original contour. All available material
will be utilized to backfill the mine fan level and portal level. Mapping of the
original contours in the timber storage area is not available. The best
available information indicates the volume of available material is about
150,000 cubic yards.
•
• TR 96-028 60i Rev. 4/27198
IR-ZB~RN-o3
l~~PRov~/ la/i4~99
