The problems should be corrected by the dates given, or they will become possible <br />violations. The possible violations should be corrected by the dates given to reduce their severity when considered <br />by the Mined Land Reclamation Board. The inspector noted on the previous page should be notified of all <br />corrective actions taken. <br />PROBLEMS/POSSIBLE VIOLATIONS <br />AND <br />CORRECTIVE ACTIONS <br />1. The topsoil stockpiles have been in place for an extended period and have not been <br />seeded. They do not have established vegetation on them and are therefore susceptible <br />to erosion. Rule 3.1.9(1) states that if topsoil is not replaced into the backfill area within a <br />time short enough to avoid deterioration of the topsoil, vegetative cover or other means <br />shall be employed so that the topsoil is protected from erosion. <br />The Operator will need to seed the topsoil stockpiles with the topsoil seed mix that was <br />provided in the Reclamation Plan. The Reclamation Plan called for seeding the topsoil <br />stockpiles with either wheat or sorghum. The topsoil stockpiles shall be seeded not /earlier than <br />October 15, 2008 and no later than December 31, 2008. The Operator shall demonstrate <br />compliance by submitting seed tags, a bill of sale, or photographs of the seeding activities. <br />CORRECTION <br />DATE <br />12/ 31 / 08 <br />PB or PV: P_ <br />TOPIC(S): IS <br />The Operator may also request a follow up inspection.
