Response:
A revised drawing C-4a is enclosed as Attachment 3. A legend has been added to describe to
colored hatching associated with this drawing. These hatchings identify a classification
change in area of disturbance from that which was approved as Amendment No. 8. The
amended drawing also includes the identification of the Permit Boundary and the City of
Victor in the lower right corner.
D. On drawing C-5 (conceptual mining phases) the only alternative overburden storage area
expansion is expected to occur in the Squaw Gulch overburden storage area. What about
the East Cresson overburden storage area?
Response:
The ECOSA is being presented as a new facility that is an expansion of the East Cresson
Backfill in the Altman portion of that mining area. The ECOSA is currently anticipated to
be constructed in the years 2011, 2012, and 2013 as highlighted by the blue colors on
Drawing C5. This sequence is also presented in Table 5-3 on Page 5-5 of the Project
Description. The SGOSAE is the only alternative area identified as part of the MLE Project
for overburden placement, should it be required.
• E. Please provide all the information on all the maps, including elevation & contour intervals
as submitted in Drawing F-1, labeled as Approximate Post Mining Topography Maps.
Some of the maps submitted with the application even lacked a legend. CC&V must make
it easy for the Division and the public to view the application and supporting maps without
going back and forth to other maps to verify the accuracy of the information provided
throughout the application.
Response:
Drawing B-1: The Legend is included for this drawing and CC&V feels that Elevation
Numbers and Contour Lines are not needed on this drawing as the purpose of this drawing is
to identify the general area of the project.
Drawing C-1: The Legend is included and CC&V feels that Elevation Numbers and
Contour Lines are not needed on this drawing, as the purpose of this drawing is to identify
the general location of adjacent land owners and permanent man made structures within 200
feet of the MLE permit boundary.
