As is noted, the overall effected area increased by approximately 15 acres as proposed within
• the MLE Project Application.
3) Increase the East and Squaw Gulch overburden areas.
Response:
The East Cresson Overburden Storage Area (ECOSA) is a new facilities proposed as part of
the MLE Project and the Squaw Gulch Overburden Storage Area (SGOSA) does increase in
capacity to include the areas known as the Squaws Gulch Overburden Storage Area Extension
(SGOSAE).
4) Build a new valley leach facility in the already affected area in Arequa Gulch.
Response:
The current valley leach facility VLF will be expanded to include the Phase 5 portion of the
facility in an area previously disturbed in Arequa Gulch by the Arequa Gulch Overburden
Storage Area (AGOSA).
5) Increase the ore lift in phases I-IV of the valley leach facility from the current approved
height of 590 feet to 800 feet for a total of 110 million tons of additional ore and 250 million
tons of overburden.
is Response.
just to clarify this statement, increasing the height of the Phase I-IV VLF does not increase
the total tonnage of material of the current approved facility, which is currently permitted at
about 300 million tons (MT). The additional 110 MT of ore material proposed as part of the
MLE Project will include Phase 5 of the VLF and will increase the total capacity of the VLF
to approximately 410 MT. The additional overburden material to be mined will be
appropriately placed in designated overburden storage areas or mine backfill.
6) Add an enrichment circuit to the ARD (approved under AM-08 but never utilized), that will
allow an additional 14,900 gpm pumping capacity to the Valley Leach Facility.
Response:
As is noted, the approved enrichment circuit to the ADR will add an additional capacity of
14,900 gpm to be able to be applied to Phase 5 of the VLF.
7) Change the access road for the mine's fuel supply route from Arequa to the Iron Clad area.
Response.
• As is noted, the new delivery route proposed as part of the MLE Project will change the need
to have nearly all fuel delivery-trucks access the property at the southern Security Gate
known as Carlton Security, except what fuel delivery may be needed to support the
emergency generators at the ADR. Except for the infrequent fuel delivery that may be
2
