Reve2etation
The vegetation (historic records) study area west of topsoil stockpile #5 appeared in good shape. This
area is fenced.
Offsite Support Facilities
Drill cuttings were not being stored on the surface at the Deer Creek Shaft pad, consistent with the
Project Plan approved in TR-109 (Exhibit 77 of the permit application). Activity at the Shaft site was
confined to the disturbed area. Most of the disturbed area is fenced.
The approximate 1-acre borrow area on the south side of Forest Service Road 711 is the only area
considered as mine disturbance near the recent reconstruction of Minnesota Dam. The borrow area
appeared to be no larger than the area approved for disturbance in TR-108 and has been regraded.
The newly constructed drill pads for methane drainage wells over panel E-1 average approximately less
than one-half acre. Mud pits have been excavated on each pad; these typically are no more than 50 feet
long X 20 feet wide X 20 feet deep.
Air Resource Protection
A water truck was spraying the Deer Creek Shaft work area for dust control. There was no dust
problem.
Documents Received
The following seven documents were received during the inspection.
1. 2008 Habitat and Wildlife Studies, E-Seam Panels 1 and 2
2.
