EEC Projecr No. 1992122
October 13, 1999
Page 2
Earth Engineering Consultants. Inc
approximately 15 to 20 feet below present site grades. Groundwater was encountered at
depths of approximately 5 to 10 feet below present site grades.
The monitor well materials that were installed at each of the well locations consisted of 2
inch schedule 40 PVC flush jointed pipe with one 10-foot screened interval (0.010 foot
slots) at the bottom, and riser sections of varying lengths. The borings were scaled
approximately 3 feet above the screened interval with bentonite tablets, which were
hydrated immediately after placement. After backtilling the borings to approximately 2
feet below the ground surface with neat cement grout, the top of the borings were sealed
with concrete and a 4-inch x 5-foot steel well protector was placed in the concrete. The
top PVC riser sections were trimmed to the height of the rim of the well protectors and
PVC slip caps were placed on the pipes. A diagram showing the typical well construction
is attached.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any
questions concerning the enclosed report, or if we can be of further service to you in any
other way, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Very truly yours,
Earth Engineering Consultants, Inc.
Michael J. Cyy, E.I.T.
Project Engineer
IviJC/dmf
