(EEC) personnel have completed the installation of
the monitor wells you requested for the above-referenced project. On October 4, 1999,
EEC personnel installed four (4) wells at the requested locations, one at each corner of
the property. Each of the wells was installed to a depth that penetrated the bedrock, which
varied at each of the well locations. The materials encountered in the test borings are
described below and on the attached boring logs. A diagram showing the approximate
boring locations is attached.
The borings were advanced using a CME 55 drill rig equipped with a continuous flight,
hollow-stem auger. The boring logs were prepared based on visual and tactual
observations of the auger cuttings. The materials encountered in the borings can be
summarized as follows.
In general, the subsurface materials encountered in the boring consisted of 3 to 6.5 fegt of
dark brown sandy lean clay, which was underlain by coarse sand and gravel with cobbles.
The frequency of cobbles varied with depth. The granular materials extended to depths
of 13 to 18 feet below present site grades. The overburden soils were underlain by dark
grey to blue shale bedrock, which extended to the bottom of the borings to depths of
CENTRE FOR ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY
2341 RESEARCH BOULEVARD, SUITE 1 04
FORT COLLINS, COLORADO 80526
(970) 224-1522 (FAx) 224-4564
