Dear Mr. Bear:
The Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (Division) has received an adequacy review
comment letter from the Colorado Division of Water Resources dated August 12, 2008. Attached is a copy
of the letter. In their letter, the Division of Water Resources states that implementation of the proposed
seismic monitoring program for the Bruce Park dam, saddle dam and landslide satisfactorily addresses
their concerns. As stated in the letter, however, please note that their acceptance assumes that the seismic
monitoring program for the dam and saddle dam will be similar to that for the landslide, including
instrumentation monitoring frequencies, reporting format and submittal of results.
With this letter from the Division of Water Resources, the Division considers items numbered 32 and 36 of
the Division's August 1, 2008 adequacy review letter to be resolved. Therefore, only item number 2,
involving ground water monitoring wells, is left to be resolved for Permit Revision No. 10.
