The area inspected is
referred to as Phase 3 (Lucero property) of the Gosney and Sons
gravel mining operations south of Bayfield. The legal
description is NW1/4 of Section 14U, Township 34 North, Range 7
West, La Plata County, Colorado.
. Based on our review of the delineated wetlands and proposed
excavation activities, we have determined that a Department of
the Army permit is not required. Proposed gravel mining in Phase
2 and Phase 3 areas will occur in uplands, avoiding impacts to
wetlands that occur to the west. The field flagged wetland
boundaries must be visibly maintained to assist equipment
operators in avoiding these adjacent wetlands during mining
activities.
We have assigned number 199375138 to this wetland
delineation. This verification is valid for three years from the
date of this letter. If you have any questions. you may ccn*_aot
Mr. Snyder at telephone number (303) 243--1199.
Sincerely,;
' Grad L.
