Colowyo C-1981-019
23 July 2008
Pg 6/6
General Mine Plan Compliance: - The 101 dragline is on the East Pit highwall
performing reclamation (although it was not actively working at the time of the
inspection.
- The 102 dragline was in the West Pit removing D-Seam overburden.
- The 103 dragline was in the West Pit removing D-Seam overburden.
- The 114 shovel was operating in the South Taylor box cut area.
- The 115 excavator was parked in the West Pit but was not operating.
Excess Spoil: - The reclaimed portions of the West Pit fill were all well vegetated and
appeared to be stable at the time of the inspection. There did not appear to be any
erosional problems on the fill at the time of the inspection.
- The Streeter fill was well vegetated and appeared to be stable at the time of the
inspection. No erosional problems were noted on the fill. This pile has gone through
a Phase II bond release.
- The Section 16 fill was well vegetated and appeared to be stable at the time of the
inspection. No erosional problems were noted on the fill. This pile has gone through
a Phase II bond release.
- The operator continues to work on the underdrain for the West Taylor Fill. They were
having problems getting good gravity sorting of the wing-dumped rock for the drain
so they stopped doing that. The operator is now getting large, competent rock out
of the Section 16 Pit spoil (directly east of the fill area). They are loading and hauling
rock down to a large pad just below the West Taylor Fill. A large LeTourneau loader
was being used to haul and place the rock in the underdrain. Once an area is
completed they will wrap it with the filter fabric and continue to build the fill.
