III. COMMENTS - COMPLIANCE <br /> Eagle Mines C-1981-044 <br /> 22 July 2008 c�jv <br /> Pg2/2 <br /> Hydrologic Balance (cont.): - Sediment Ponds SH-P1 and SH-P2, by the old farm shop, <br /> were both dry at the time of the inspection. Both embankments were well vegetated <br /> and appeared to be stable. No erosional problems were noted on either pond <br /> embankment at the time of the inspection. <br /> - Sediment Pond 5A-P l, just below the 5A portals, was dry at the time of the <br /> inspection. The pond embankment was well vegetated and appeared to be stable. <br /> No erosional problems were noted on the pond embankment at the time of the <br /> inspection. The ditch from the 100,000 gallon water tank above the portal bench <br /> appeared to be stable as well. <br /> - Sediment Ponds 9-P1 and 9-P6, by the newly permitted solid waste disposal area, <br /> were both dry at the time of the inspection. These ponds collect the runoff from the <br /> solid waste disposal area and the adjacent refuse pile. Both pond embankments <br /> were well vegetated and appeared to be stable. No erosional problems were noted <br /> on either pond embankment at the time of the inspection. <br /> Backfilling and Grading: - The backfilled #4 portal area appeared to be stable at the <br /> time of the inspection. There was no noticeable settling and there were no erosional <br /> problems. <br /> - The solid waste disposal area where several demolished buildings have been buried <br /> has been backfilled. The area was well graded and there was no settling in the <br /> backfill. There was a new slot cut.in the solid waste disposal area for the disposal of <br /> miscellaneous materials from the site. This area was stable as well. <br /> Processing Waste: - The refuse pile by the solid waste disposal area was well graded <br /> and appeared to be stable at the time of the inspection. The pile appears to have <br /> positive drainage and there was no water pooling on the surface of the pile. There <br /> were no erosional problems noted at the time of the inspection. <br /> Support Facilities: -The 5A portal area appeared to be in good condition at the time <br /> of the inspection. No problems were noted. <br /> Topsoil: - All of the topsoil piles were well vegetated and appeared stable at the time <br /> of the inspection. There were no erosional problems noted on any of the piles. <br /> Revegetation/ Reclamation Success: - The solid waste disposal area that was seeded <br /> in May has some growth and remains stable. <br /> Overall the mine appears to be in good condition. <br />
