This application cannot be approved
until the following issues are adequately addressed. Please submit a response to the following issues as
soon as possible, but no later than July 2, 2008 so the decision due date set for July 14, 2008 can be met.
If your response or a written extension request are not received by July 2, 2008 this application may be
denied
ADEQUACY COMMENTS
1. Please revise application form item no. 3 to specify the correct acreage to be added (32.91).
2. Per Rule 6.4.3 please revise the pre-mining map to indicate the type of vegetation covering the
land to be affected and show and label the structures on or within 200 feet of the proposed
amendment area (including fences).
3. Please submit documentation that provides reasonable assurance that the site will be used as
industrial/commercial land in the near future and provide proof that this use is approved by both
Grand County and the Town of Kremmling.
4. Please revise the AM-01 text to correctly state the conditions approved in the 1993 conversion to
a 112c permit. In that conversion, Grand County agreed to a topsoil replacement depth of 6
inches across the entire site, not 1 inch on the pit floor and 4 inches on the pit slopes as stated in
this AM-O1 application. In that conversion, Grand County also agreed to final slopes of 4H:1 V,
not 2H:1 V as stated in this AM-O1 application. Finally, in absence of reasonable assurance that
the industrial/commercial use would take place, Grand County agreed to revegetation of the
entire site.
Office of Office of
Mined Land Reclamation Denver • Grand Junction • Durango Active and Inactive Mines
