outside the present permit boundaries, certain lands may have to be added to the permit under an
amendment to the permit. Please feel free to contact me to discuss the various types of requirements
there might be.
At this time, the Division has considered your technical revision request, and it has been APPROVED.
As a follow-up to this approval, which is also related to the recent transfer of the permit from
Homestake, I will recalculate the bond amount and send the figures to you for review. The figure will
be significantly lower than the current bond posted, and you would be entitled to request that
applicable portions of it be released. However, since you will likely propose new-areas of active
operations on the site sometime in the indefinite future, I will be required to recalculate the bond again,
with the result being higher than the previous recalculated amount. We can discuss any bond
reductions or increases at that time.
Thank you for the chance to discuss a few details of the file and thoughts about handling upcoming
changes to the permit. If you have questions, I may be reached at the Division's Durango field office:
701 Camino del Rio, Room 315, Durango, CO 81301; telephone 970-247-5193 or fax 970-247-5104.
I look forward to working with you on this permit in the future.
Sincerely,
Bob Oswald
Environmental Protection Specialist
Cc: Zeke Ward
Ec: Tony Waldron, DRMS
(c:\08-05 docs\bulldog tr13 apprlrco)
