Bolts will be installed to completely cover the tunnel from 2 ft below grade <br />line to 2 ft below grade line on opposite rib, unless otherwise specified by Climax. <br />B. Grouted cable bolts will be required in zones of poor quality rock or areas of excessive roof fall. <br />Climax will provide a bolt pattern for cables. Mats will be required where ground conditions warrant. <br />Wire mats are 4-inch by 4-inch opening, 4 gauge wire in sheets that are 4 ft wide by 8 ft long. <br />2.1.5 Installation of Concrete and Shotcrete <br />A. Installation of Shotcrete and/or concrete will be required in areas of the tunnel, as indicated by Climax, <br />where sloping or spalling of the back or ribs has been or is anticipated to be severe based on the <br />ground conditions. It is anticipated that following washing and mucking activities, Climax will inspect <br />the area and determine the specific ground support requirements. Climax will issue to the Contractor <br />"Rock Support Instructions" for the notification to proceed with the work. <br />B. A wet system of application installing a nominal 4 inches of reinforced Shotcrete will be placed in two <br />separate lifts is required by Climax. If the area of application is too wet, a dry system of application <br />will be considered. <br />Additional figures illustrating TMT rehabilitation details are provided below. <br />
