Parkdale Quarry Amendment #1-Bond Phasing Calculations <br />Apri12008 <br />Aspects G and H include costs associated with the reclamation of the topsoil and overburden stockpile <br />areas. Since the stockpile materials are used throughout the mining area for reclamation, seeding and <br />mulching, and reseeding in the area of the stockpiles is the only cost associated with this aspect. <br />Aspect I includes the cost of the reclamation of the approximately 475-foot berm located southwest of <br />the Granite Quarry mining limit. This aspect also includes replacing topsoil to 6 inches, seeding and <br />mulching and reseeding the area disturbed by the berm. <br />Aspect J approximates the cost associated with removing the temporary bridges over Tallahassee Creek <br />and stabilizing areas along the creek disturbed by the rail spur and bridges. Each of the bridge removal <br />costs were based on individual bridge size and type and CDOT cost data was referenced. Due to the fact <br />that the upstream bridge may require steel cutting, the removal costs were higher. In addition, grading <br />and earthwork associated with the removal of approximately 500 feet of road bed was included in the <br />calculation for the culvert removal due to the fact that the culvert would be removed as the road bed <br />was removed. <br />Aspect K approximates the cost associated with the removal of approximately 5,200 feet of the rail spur <br />running past the Granite Quarry. <br />Granite Quarry Phase II (Year121 <br />This phase of the Quarry operation is characterized by active mining in Area 3. Area 4 will be stripped in <br />preparation for mining. It is assumed that reclamation is complete along the northern mining face of <br />Area 1. It is also assumed that reclamation is in process for the northern portion of the Area 2. This <br />phase uses the same assumptions in terms of unit costs as reclamation Phase I. This phase is assumed <br />to take place at year 12 of the mining operation. Initially, only year 13 bonding was calculated. Due to <br />the fact that Phase III of the Sand and Gravel Operation was calculated at year 12, the bonding <br />calculation for Phase II of the Quarry operation was also calculated for year 12. Due to the relatively <br />insignificant operational differences between Quarry operations at year 12 and year 13, the bonding <br />calculations are estimated to be the same. The key differences between reclamation Phases I and II are <br />as follows: <br />• Reclamation of approximately 320 vertical feet of 1,310 linear feet of the active mining face in <br />Area 2. This aspect also includes the replacement of topsoil to 6-inches, seeding and mulching, <br />and reseeding the area. <br />• Reclamation of approximately 2,430 linear feet of the active mining face in Area 3. This aspect <br />also includes the replacement of topsoil to 6-inches, seeding and mulching, and reseeding the <br />area. <br />• Reclamation of approximately 10 acres of stripped ground. This aspect includes the <br />replacement of topsoil to 6-inches, seeding and mulching, and reseeding the area. <br />S~Page <br />
