CO~~e/'
F. Avoidance of unacceptable voids and settling:
The voids and consequent settling anticipated by Rule 3.1.5 (9) pertain to surface
settling where backfill materials have been placed into surface excavations. For
such an activity, voids in the underlying fill material can result in surface
subsidence. In this case the fill site is an underground stope which has
demonstrated stability since the early 1970's. As such, ground surface stability
will be unaffected by this activity. The long-term stability of the underground
workings of the Schwartzwalder Mine is excellent. The subsidence potential at
the Mine was reviewed as pari of the Reclamation Pian as Appendix D-1 "Study
of Subsidence Potential at the Schwartzwalder Mine Golden, Colorado."
Sincer ly,
Amy L.
