In order to accommodate the change in the delivery route of diesel, gasoline, and lime,
CC&V has proposed to construct a deceleration lane for westbound to southbound left
turn vehicles at the intersection of CR 821 with SH 67. This will help increase safety at
this intersection by providing a lane for turning vehicles that need to decelerate and go
slower than the through traffic stream. In addition to the American Association of State
Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) requirements for deceleration and-
taper, this lane should have 100 feet, which will accommodate two large 50 foot semi
tractor trailers.
CC&V also has proposed to construct an acceleration lane for northbound to eastbound
right turn vehicles at the intersection of CR 821 and SH 67. This will also help increase
safety at this intersection by providing a lane for turning vehicles to accelerate up to the
speed of highway traffic before merging into the through traffic stream.
