J. J. Dudash - 2 - March 31, 2008
Cultural Resources
The mine permit boundary has been extensively inventoried for cultural resources, see
Volume 9B. A rite specific Cultural Resource Inventory will be performed if required by
the BLM. Drill pads will be leveled along light use roads where possible. The
undisturbed portion of the area is heavily vegetated with oak brush.
Access
All access to BF;L1-08-04 will be from.the west off of Steven's Gulch Road. Access to
BRL1-08-03 will be from the east or south. The drill rig will be mobilized from the south
on the road along Terror Creek. The crews for BRL1-08-03 will travel the Bowie No. 2
mine haul and access roads then utilize Stevens Draw road, the North Ridge road and
the Terror CreeM; Descent. The crews will use the road at the end of the Terror Creek
Descent to access the drill sites. A portion of the North Ridge road and the Terror
Creek Descent are located on USDA-FS managed lands. This route will only be utilized
during fair weatF~er when the roads are dry to damp. If the roads are muddy, the crew
and material access will be from the south. These routes can be identified on a Bowie
Quadrangle ma~~. Access to the drill sites from these roads are shown on Map 4-1,
Hydrologic Reconnaissance.
Light use roads will be constructed and upgraded to access the drill pads. The roads
will be constructed in accordance with rule 4.03.3. The alignments of the roads are
presented on M~~p 4-1 Hydrologic Reconnaissance. Reclamation of the upgraded light
use road will involve narrowing the roadway width to 6 to 8-feet. The new light use
roads will be reclaimed.
Soils
No detailed soil ;purvey will be performed in the areas to be disturbed for the light use
roads or drill pact. To the extent possible, depending on the slope of the ground
surface, topsoil will be salvaged.
Vegetation
Map 9A-1 Veget~stion Analysis shows vegetation boundaries for the area to be affected
by this revision. The only vegetation type to be disturbed is Oakbrush.
Sedimentation Control
Through technic<~I revision number 38, BRL incorporated into the permit typical drill pad
configurations and silt fence designs for the drill pads.
Reclamation Estimate
A $24,536 reclamation estimate is enclosed. Amounts are provided to seal the holes,
reclaim or narro~rr the light use roads, reclaim the drill sites and seed. The TR-44
reclamation estivate was $25,507.
