III. Comments - Compliance <br /> Below are particular issues with regard to any of the compliance items. <br /> Enforcement actions resulting from failure to comply with the Act, Rules <br /> and Regulations, and the permit also are identified below. <br /> 4.03 Roads <br /> 1 ) The berm on the outside edge of the Mine #4 road had been <br /> built up above the powder magazine. The berm should be built up for the <br /> entire length of the road below the powder magazine. <br /> 2) The culverts requested to be cleaned and repaired in the last <br /> inspection report had been repaired and cleaned. <br /> 3) The material tracked onto the access road near the front gate <br /> from the preparations plant should be cleaned up. <br /> 4.04 Support Facilities <br /> The slurry pond behind the wash plant was being cleaned during this <br /> inspection. The overflow had not yet been cleaned up. <br /> 4.05 Hydrologic Balance <br /> 1) Sediment pond 006 had not yet been cleaned. Mr. Bowman <br /> requested that the compliance deadline for cleaning be extended two weeks. <br /> The area above pond 006 had been topsoiled. Additional topsoil must be <br /> added before seeding. <br /> 2) The piezometers on the refuse pile have been backfilled. <br /> 3) The drainage ditch below the Mine #1 stockpile had not yet <br /> been cleaned. The operator attempted to clean the ditch but was unable <br /> to clean it with the equipment available. Mr. Bowman requested the <br /> deadline be extended two weeks. <br /> 4) The berm around the rock tunnel powder magazine has been <br /> rebuilt. <br /> 5) A berm has been built along the south side of the ramp leading <br /> to the pump at artic circles as requested in the last inspection report. <br /> 6) The headwall on the disturbed drainage culvert at Mine #1 has <br /> been rebuilt. <br />
