• Homeland Uranium, Inc. would coordinate project activities with appropriate fire- <br />fighting personnel in the BLM. <br />Hazardous and Solid Waste/l'rash Disposal <br />• Fuel and lubricants would be temporarily stored in transportable containment trucks <br />and trailers to minimize potential for accidental releases/spills. No other hazardous <br />or potentially hazardous materials would be brought into the project area. <br />• All spills or leaks of diesel fuel, hydraulic fluid, lubricating oil, and coolant, including <br />contaminated soil material, would be excavated to an appropriate container and <br />transported to an approved disposal site. <br />• All solid waste or trash would be transported for disposal to an approved solid waste <br />disposal facility (most likely the San Juan County sanitary landfill west of LaSal). <br />Public/Crew Safety <br />• Vehicle traffic would be limited to existing roads and travel routes. Vehicles would <br />travel at speeds within set speed limits of main access roads and at slower speeds <br />appropriate for conditions on more remote roads and trails: Crew would minimize <br />vehicle traffic in and out of the project area by carpooling from surrounding towns. <br />• A sign warning the public of project related activity would be located at the closest <br />road/travel routes intersections on either side of the next day's planned drilling. <br />Water Resources, Wetland/Riparian/Floodplain Protection <br />• Should saturated conditions or water in a drilled hole be encountered, native <br />bentoni#e would be packed into the hole to above the water level in the hole to seal <br />the saturated zone. <br />• Project water would be obtained from adjudicated sources. <br />• No drill holes would be drilled within 330 feet of perennial surface water features. <br />• No operations would be performed within 150 feet of a spring and no <br />wetland/riparian vegetation would be removed. <br />• Vehicles would not cross perennial water features, except on existing roads or pre- <br />designated crossings. <br />Soil Resource Protection <br />• Vehicles would be restricted to existing roads and travel routes. <br />• No vehicles would be operated during periods of saturated soil conditions when <br />surface ruts greater than 4 inches would occur along straight travel routes. <br />• Drilling traffic would be planned to minimize the number of passes over the same <br />ground, and to minimize the potential for soil compaction and for impacts to <br />biological soil crusts. <br />
