October Ore Pile Reclamation Exhibit D
110(d) Limited Impact Permit Application
Nuvemco LLC
6.3.4 Exhibit D - Reclamation Plan
6.3.4 (1) (a) Overburden replaced (amended)
No overburden will be displaced or replaced. Very thin soils of the Bodot-Sili-
Rock outcrop complex are found at the ore pile site. Alternative 1 will be to scarify the
underlying soil and rock after the October Ore Pile is removed, and then reseed. Should
the re-vegetation not be successful after a reasonable time period, the Nuvemco
operator will cover the ore pile site with silty soil removed from a location along John
Brown Canyon as previously described.
6.3.4 (1) (b) Maximum gradient of restored slopes
As shown on Exhibit D, Map 3 (next page) the area will be graded to the original
contour with a maximum slope of about 6 percent.
6.3.4 (1) (c) Measures to be taken for re-vegetation of the site (amended)
Reclamation of the ore stockpile will be required. This area is approximately one
third of an acre (.35) in size (see maps). The truck turn-around location west of the Ore
Pile will add about 0.11 acres to the disturbed area for a total disturbed area of 0.46
acres, and be reclaimed similarly. The October Ore Pile is located on a rock shelf, so
there is limited topsoil to salvage. The only equipment needed will be a loader with a
bucket to prep the area, and an ATV to pull a portable broadcast seeder to distribute the
seed mixture. The area will covered with a silty soil provided by the BLM which will be
seeded with the following recommended seed mixture approved by the Bureau of Land
Management:
SPECIES
Arriba Western wheat grass
Primar Slender wheat grass
Luna Pubescent wheat grass
Nordan Crested wheat grass
Paloma Indian rice grass
Needle and Thread grass
Hachita Blue Grama
Lewis Flax
Cedar Palmer Penstemon
Lutana Cicer Milk Vetch
Rincon or Native Four Wing Salt Brush
APPLICATION RATE/LBS/ACRE PLS
PLS/acre Total
2.7
2.0
3.0
1.5
2.1
2.4
0.4
0.8
0.2
0.3
3.0
18.4 lbs.
Seed tags shall be submitted to the Bureau upon completion of the seeding. A mulch of
locally available dead trees/branches will be placed over the reclaimed area to prevent
erosion until grasses have become reestablished.
6.3.4 (1) (d)Ponds streams, roads or buildings remaining
21
