The operator measured the water level in the former fan shaft where pump installation and <br /> mine dewatering are planned. The water level was measured at 322.1 feet below the grate <br /> covering the shaft. <br /> Support Facilities <br /> Dewatering of the mine to the new dewatering pond has not yet begun. At this time, pump <br /> installation is scheduled for early September. Other facilities remain idle with no changes <br /> observed. <br /> Revegetation <br /> The former SW coal stockpile area (below) is showing good establishment of grasses and <br /> (orbs. Weed control activities were obvious at the West Portal area and appeared <br /> successful. <br /> Development Waste Pile <br /> The top portion of the Development Waste Pile (DWP) was traversed from east to west. <br /> Establishment of grasses and forbs appeared excellent due to recent moisture. Annual <br /> weeds provide hydrologic cover and mulch appeared to be stabilizing soil and preventing <br /> rilling on this area. <br /> Overall, the site appeared in good condition for the summer season. <br /> 4 <br />
