EMERGENCY RESPONSE PLAN FOR DESIGNATED <br />MINING OPERATIONS - EMERGENCY NOTIFICATION BY <br />OPERATORS <br />The October Ore Pile Reclamation project will not include any of the traditional mining <br />operations requiring emergency response planning and notifications. Primary concerns <br />are personal safety and accident prevention. In the event of personal injury Emergency <br />Medical Treatment services are available in Gateway. Ambulance or helicopter medical <br />evacuation is available from Grand Junction. <br />The US Nuclear Regulatory Commission recognizes shipping of uranium ore as a "Low <br />Specific Activity", that the "material may be shipped in bulk and presents a minimal <br />health hazard in transport." Operator Nuvemco and trucking contractors will use Best <br />Management Practices and are familiar with the US Department of Transportation "2008 <br />Emergency Response Guidebook" in the event of ore truck accidents. <br />8.1 NA. No impoundments, embankments, stockpiles or slopes or chemical <br />containments are present or will have potential failures. <br />8.2 NA. Emergency notifications will be to local and state police agencies and <br />emergency paramedic and hospital providers in the event of personal injury accidents. <br />DRMS and CDPHE will be advised of events during normal operating hours. <br />8.3 NA. No designated chemicals are present during this ore reclamation project. <br />8.4 to 8.8 NA. No mines are involved in reclamation project <br />57
