Squeegee Material shall be placed where required to prevent rock protrusions <br />greater than 2 inches from coming into contact with the GCL. <br />2. Squeegee Material shall be placed using a method specification approved by <br />the Owner. <br />3.03 TOLERANCES <br />A. Minimum grades and slopes to provide drainage control shall be maintained. <br />B. Cushion Material shall be placed to a minimum thickness of 2.5 feet. <br />3.04 FIELD QUALITY CONTROL <br />A. Field inspection and testing will be performed by the Owner. <br />B. In-place density testing will be performed in accordance with ASTM D 1556 or <br />ASTM D 2922 and ASTM D 3017. <br />C. Laboratory compaction testing to determine the soil's maximum dry density will be <br />performed in accordance with ASTM D 698. <br />D. If tests indicate Work does not meet specified requirements, perform remedial action <br />as described below. <br />1. Compaction below specified minimum: <br />Apply additional effort, or scarify, moisture condition, recompact, and retest. <br />2. Moisture content outside of specified limits during compaction: <br />a. Moisture content below specified minimum: <br />Scarify the depth of the lift, moisture condition, mix to achieve uniform <br />moisture content, compact, and retest. Application of moisture to the <br />top of a compacted lift will not be allowed to increase the moisture <br />content without the prior approval of the Owner and on a case by case <br />basis. <br />b. Moisture content above specified maximum: <br />Scarify the depth of the lift, allow to air dry, mix to achieve uniform <br />moisture content, compact, and retest or remove the wet material. <br />Mixing of dry material to lower the moisture content will not be <br />allowed without the prior approval of the Owner and on a case by case <br />basis. <br />• <br />3.
