Soil materials shall be free of brush, roots, sod, or other deleterious or unsuitable <br /> materials. The Contractor shall provide all necessary labor and equipment to remove <br /> such materials from borrow and/or fill areas. The suitability of all fill materials <br /> intended for use in the Work shall be subject to approval by the Owner. <br /> B. Cushion Material: <br /> This material, consisting of coarse-grained granular soils either produced from <br /> crushed and screened on-site mine waste or imported materials, shall be placed over <br /> the geocomposite clay liner (GCL) to provide protection of the GCL from the <br /> operation of equipment.
