Mulches <br /> Mulching is required for this project. Mulch shall be provided by CONTRACTOR, and <br /> shall conform to Section 20.2 of the Revegetation Specifications. All mulch shall be <br /> certified as noxious weed free or noxious weed seed free by any authorized State or <br /> County Officer. Documentation of certification shall be provided to the PROJECT <br /> MANAGER prior to application of mulch. <br /> Mulch shall be applied at a rate of one (1) ton per acre. <br /> The CONTRACTOR will supply the fertilizer (commercial), mulch, and equipment for <br /> fertilizer application, seeding, mulching and crimping. Revegetation efforts will occur on <br /> approximately six (6) acres. <br /> Broadcast application of seed and fertilizer and hand mulching is required. <br /> Seed must be broadcast using a hand held broadcast seed applicator. <br /> Measurement and Payment <br /> Measurement and payment for this Task will be as per Revegetation Specification 20.0. <br /> Revegetated areas will be measured to the nearest 0.1 acre and paid at the unit price <br /> bid on the Bid Schedule Item 6. The price bid shall include all costs for labor, materials, <br /> equipment and all other items necessary for revegetation as described in these <br /> specifications, including work at the pond margins and on the pond access roads. <br /> Payment for this task will be made only for the unit price shown under Item 6 of the Bid <br /> Schedule. Payment shall be as this task is completed and approved by the PROJECT <br /> MANAGER. <br /> TASK 7 TREE AND SHRUB PLANTING <br /> Trees and shrubs will be planted on approximately twelve (12) acres. The six (6) acre <br /> area subject to revegetation activities and another six (6) acre area located <br /> approximately one half mile west of the area subject to revegetation. <br /> One hundred fifty (150) trees and one hundred fifty (150) shrubs will be planted per acre <br /> in a random pattern. A total of three thousand six hundred (3,600) trees and shrubs <br /> shall be provided in approximately equal quantities of six hundred (600) per species <br /> specified. The varieties of trees and shrubs will be evenly distributed on each acre <br /> planted. <br /> Acceptable trees and shrubs must be provided in containers no smaller than ten cubic <br /> inch (10 in ), being 1.5 inches in diameter and 8.25 inches in depth. Such containers <br /> must have internal vertical ridges and must have a hole at the base. <br /> Dead or diseased trees and shrubs, or trees and shrubs which appear to be unhealthy, <br /> excessively dry, damaged or otherwise judged to be unacceptable by PROJECT <br /> MANAGER shall be rejected and will not be planted or counted for payment. <br /> 11 <br /> II <br />
