5TATE OF COLORA, DO
DIVISION OF MINERALS AND GEOLOGY
Department of Natural Resources
1 313 Sherman St., Room 215
Denver,Colorado 80203
Phone:(303)866-3567
FAX:(303)832-8106
DEPARTMENT OF
NATURAL
RESOURCES
December___28 ,_ 1995 __ — _ Roy Romer
Governor
To: John Nelson James S.Lochhead
From• Jim McArdle Executive Director
Subject: GEC Michael B.Long
Division Director
Dave Berry spoke with Dr. Corley yesterday and he indicated that he
would be happy if we completed the following tasks;
1. Repair his gate damage that was caused by Preston.
2 . Clean up the Preston oil spill by the gate.
3 . Reslope Chen' s Hill.
We can probably do item' s 1 and 2 , however, we cannot reslope
Chen' s Hill. When you have the phone bid contractors at the site
during the prebid meeting, have them also bid on repair or
replacement of the gate and cleanup of the spilled oil (probably
shovel work) . We have to be careful digging at the oil spill site
due to the proximity of the Energy Fuels pond.
Bid the remaining items as we discussed. Corley suggested that we
cut a notch in each of the concrete structures in addition to
mounding on each side to direct water flow.
Let's discuss -this memo -and the results--of -the -Ra-nney\Nelson--GEC--------
Exploratory Mission of December 28 , 1995 .
