STATE OF COLORADO
DIVISION OF MINERALS AND GEOLOGY
Department of Natural Resources
1313 Sherman St., Room 215
Denver,Colorado 80203
Phone:(303)866-3567
FAX:(303)832-8106
DEPARTMEN`r`01
NATURAI
RESOURCE
Roy Romer
October 11, 1995 Governor
James S.Lochhead
Executive Director
To: Steve Brown
From: Jim MCArdle Michael B.Long
Division Director
Subject: The Corley Company\GEC Project
I have attached the latest letter from W.D. Corley, Jr. together
with my letter of January 17 , 1995 and the June 20th Settlement
agreement between the Division and Colorado West Leasing. There is
$21, 604 . 25 left of the GEC bond that the Division intends to use
for maintenance. A portion of the maintenance will be completed
this fall by way of a telephone bid. . The Division has been
reviewing the maintenance needs and has scheduled a trip to the
site for next week.
Clearly, the Division has not been negligent in this matter and is
responding to maintenance needs as scheduled and in a timely
fashion. As W.D. Corley has indicated his intent to sue, I felt
that you should review this letter and advise us as to a course of
action.
Thanks.
