In order to keep to the schedule the Board ordered, we anticipate using a Purchase Order contract. A reclamation plan and cost estimate have been prepared, using the Technical Information Processing System (TES). TIPS is supplied to DMG by the Department of the Interior; Office of Surface Mining and contains over 20 different state-of-the-art environmental engineering programs. The Reclamation Plan, preliminary maps and cost - estimate are attached: This Reclamation Plan will-be the basis for-the bid specifications. The cost estimate for this project is $345,870.00. We do not believe that the job could be bid in smaller sub-projects since Tasks 4 and 5, which must be included in one job due to the planned movement of dirt, have a total estimated cost of $172,701.00. On past jobs of this size and cost bid by the Division, you have expressed a desire to review the specifications to see that they are adequate. Since we have a tight schedule to keep in order to comply with the Mined Land Reclamation Board Order, please let me know the following: 1) If you wish to review the specifications; 2) When in the bid process you would like to review the specifications; and, 3) The time I should allow in the schedule for your review.
