i
rip-rap will be placed so that the crest of the spillway is 2 feet above the channel bottom.
Upstream and downstream side slopes of the dam will beat a ratio of 2HAV. The dam crest j
will be 12 feet long and will slope up to the top of the channel sides. The apron will be filled with
loose, angular rock of the same dimension as that for the dam. The top of the apron will be
level with the channel bottom. A 6 inch high sill will be placed along the downstream end of the j
apron. Channel side slopes will be protected at each check dam by placing rip-rap from the toe;
of the apron to the top of the dam.
The completed channel will carry runoff to a 36 inch culvert under the county road. The sides
of the channel and road embankment will be armored with angular rip-rap as shown in Drawing
4. The culvert discharges into Pond 15-P2 . The discharge point will be armored with angular
riprap consisting of durable irregular rock having a minimum D-50 of 9 inches and a D-
maximum of 18 inches. The armored slope will be centered below the point of discharge and
will be 8 feet wide, 10 feet long, and 2 feet deep. Rip-rap must be keyed into the pond inslope
on the downstream end. This key will consist of a trench 8 foot wide, 2 feet long, and 4 feet
deep.
Rip-rap will be imported and must be approved by the Project Manager prior to hauling to the
site.
Revegetation shall be completed according to specifications in 20.0 Revegetation, attached, j
and will be paid for under item 15.
i
Measurement and Payment
There will be no measurement for payment for Task#4. The final bottom elevation will be marked by the project
Manager. The new lined spillway bottom will be 25 feet long and 3 feet below the current dam
crest. The spillway side slopes will be sloped to 3:1. The spillway bottom, side slopes, and
outslope shall be lined with riprap (total riprap thickness of 24 inches) as shown in drawing 3.
Rip-rap material for the spillway must consist of durable irregular rock having a minimum D-50
of 6 inches and a D-maximum of 9 inches. Rip-rap will be imported and must be approved by
the Project Manager prior to hauling to the site.
I
Measurement and Pavment j
There will be no measurement for payment for Task#5.
