same dimension as that for the dam. The top of the apron will be level with the channel bottom.
A 6 inch high sill will be placed along the downstream end of the apron. Gully side slopes will
be protected below the check dam by placing rip-rap from the toe of the apron to the top of the
dam.
The road crossing will be armored with rip-rap. Rip-rap material will consist of durable irregular
rock having a minimum D-50 of 9 inches and a D-maximum of 12 inches. The access road
crossing will be excavated 12 feet wide and 2 feet deep across the road upstream form the
check dam location.
Rip-rap will be imported and must be approved by the Project Manager prior to hauling to the
site.
Measurement and Payment
There will be no measurement for payment for Task#7. Payment for Task#7 will be reflected
in a lump sum bid under Item 7 on the Bid Schedule.
Task 8-Stream Channel Armoring
A section of unlined stream channel, south of Pond 15-P2, lies between upgradient and
downgradient sections of the channel which are lined with rip-rap (See Map 3). The unlined
portion of the channel will be lined with rip-rap resulting in a continuous, rip-rap lined channel.
Approximately 100 feet of stream channel will be excavated and lined with riprap in accordance
with drawing No. 5. The location of the channel is shown on figure 3. Excavated material will
be placed evenly on both sides of the channel and angular rip-rap will be installed to a depth of
9 inches to 18 inches on the channel bed and side slopes. The resultant, rip-rap lined channel
will be 3 feet deep from the original ground surface, the channel bottom will be 12 feet wide,
and side slopes will be at a slope of 3HAV. Rip-rap material must consist of durable irregular
rock having a minimum D-50 of 9 inches and a D-maximum of 18 inches. Rip-rap will be
imported and must be approved by the Project Manager prior to hauling to the site.
Measurement and Payment
There will be no measurement for payment for Task#8. Payment for Task#8 will be reflected
in a lump sum bid under Item 8 on the Bid Schedule.
Task 9- Removal of Upland Diversion 22-D4
Upland Diversion Ditch 22-D4 is a 2,600 feet long ditch located uphill from the east-west access
road (See Map 5). The ditch is approximately 14 feet wide. It will be decommissioned by
excavating a series of cuts into the bottom and outside berm so that runoff from uphill is
directed across the ditch and into existing drainages in the slopes below. The locations for
each cut will be flagged or staked by the Project Manager. Their spacing will be at approximate
200 foot intervals with some variations as directed by the Project Manager. Each cut will be
10
