A second U.S.F.S. approved gate was installed on "Road B" where it intersects with F.S.
Road 201. This road will be used in the near future.
Reclamation Accomplished to Date (Including 2007)-
A total of 0.68 acres has been reclaimed since 2006. Both Sites A and B were reclaimed
in 2006. All pits were filled, re-contoured, and reseeded. Silt fences were installed and
will remain until 80% growth is achieved.
Reclamation Accomplished During 2007,
Site E was opened and reclaimed except for a small area where operations will resume.
Site E was reseeded in autumn.
Trees and shrubs were planted on Site A and Site B in May. For each site, 35 ponderosa
and 10 Douglas firs were planted, along with 30 mixed meadow rose, mountain
mahogany, and wax currant. October inspections showed good survival rates for all trees
and shrubs.
Both sites were reseeded during May. Growth from 2006 was not satisfactory. Field
checks in October showed much better growth.
Additionally, all the berms and disturbances created by installing the access road were
seeded. The road will be removed and reclaimed approximately 2011.
Proposed 2008 Operations:
Operations will be in conjunction with operations on Glacier Peak Mining claims and
Crystaljack mining claims between early May and extend through early August and be
conducted primarily using a John Deer 992 and/or 690 track hoe. The excavation at Site
E -will be completed and the excavation planned for Sites C and D will be started. Site C
should be completed; however, if any site remains open over winter, it will be partially
refilled, bermed and temporarily reseeded to prevent erosion and to make it safe.If time
permits, Site I may be opened on the Blue Streak No. 1.
Site visits, including mineral extraction, reclamation, and claim maintenance will be
continued throughout the season.
Anticipated 2008 Disturbances:
Approximately 0.65 acre total will be disturbed at Sites E, C, D, and possibly I.
Proposed 2008 Reclamation:
Where -practical, any disturbances will be filled, re-contoured, and reseeded.
Approximately 0.5 acre will be reclaimed.
