PR-12 Exhibit 71 30
4.4.5.5 Spring J-7
Spring J-7 is located in Poison Gulch which is tributary to Dry Fork (Map 1). It is within the SOD area that will
be developed between years 2009 and 2013. The source of this spring appears to issue from alluvium. Baseline
monitoring of Spring J-7 began in the spring of 2006 and included measuring flow, collecting field water quality
data, and collecting samples for laboratory water quality analyses from May through October 2006 (CDMG,
2005b). Routine monitoring at this location began in 2007.
4.4.5.6 Deep Creek Spring #2
Deep Creek Spring #2 is located in Deep Creek which is tributary to North Fork of the Gunnison River (Map 1).
It is in the DFL areas that will be developed between years 2009 and 2013. The source of this spring appears to
issue from alluvium. Baseline monitoring at Deep Creek Spring #2 began in the spring of 2007 and included
measuring flow, collecting field water quality data, and collecting samples for laboratory water quality analyses
from April through September 2007 (CBMG, 2005b). Routine monitoring will begin in 2008.
4.4.5.7 Deep Creek Trail Spring
Deep Creek Trail Spring is located in Deep Creek which is tributary to North Fork of the Gunnison River (Map
1). Routine monitoring will begin in 2008.
4.4.5.8 96-2-2 Area Spring
The 96-2-2 Area Spring is located in Deep Creek which is tributary to North Fork of the Gunnison River (Map 1).
It is in the DFL area that will be developed between years 2009 and 2013. The source of this spring appears to
issue from colluvium. Baseline monitoring at 96-2-2 Spring began in the spring of 2007 and included measuring
flow, collecting field water quality data, and collecting samples for laboratory water quality analyses from April
through September 2007 (CBMG, 2005b). Routine monitoring will begin in 2008.
4.5 Ground Water Monitoring
0
Currently, there are 27 monitored wells in the WETM ground water monitoring plan, including the SOM-23-1-1-1,
SOM-23-H 2, SOM-23-H 3, and SOM-23-1-1-4 wells that MCC re-introduced into the monitoring program in
2005. Well SOM-23-H-1 was monitored in 2005 and part of 2006, however, although there was audible water
flowing in well, the well casing was damaged at depth of 135 feet. 145 feet, and 190 feet and it was completely
obstructed at 243 feet (original depth was 604 feet). As a result, monitoring data collected from this Nell is
suspect and the well will not be monitored in the future.
September 2007
HrdroGeo, Inc.
